Yes! We have had many children who take a day out from public school each week to learn, play and create outdoors.

Forest & Nature School is complementary to whole-child education and can benefit academic outcomes. We are happy to provide a letter to your child's school discussing these benefits. Ultimately it is up to you and your administrators, but we have found that most schools are open to students taking the day away from school.

Reach out, we are happy to help!
Yes, registration is for the full year, with the option of paying tuition in one lump sum or monthly.

The benefits of Forest and Nature School have been shown to increase with the duration and frequency of attendance. Children get to create a secure, deep relationship with a natural place, within the social group, and within the natural routine and rhythm that develops at Forest School. With familiarity comes inspiration and empowerment!

That said, if there are spots available, you can register at any time in the year, and you may withdraw if need be. We offer a refund for the remaining sessions, less a 10% fee to account for that seat not being filled, administrative costs, and to allow us to continue to operate. This fee may be waived on a case-by-case basis.
Our facilitator to learner ratio is very low, at a maximum of 1:8, and usually 1:6, to allow for high quality care and individual attention given to each learner, and also to ensure safety when we are out on the land. We always have at least two staff facilitators on site at all times, as well as volunteers.

With a low ratio, facilitators can closely observe and get to know the kids. They are able to assess their needs, provide the best directions for learning and growth, and support them meaningfully in their social-emotional learning as well as on their adventures of inquiry and curiosity!
All our staff are trained in Standard First Aid and CPR, and have clear Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Checks.

Facilitators are either certified, or well into their path to certification by the Child & Nature Alliance of Canada (CNAC) as Forest and Nature School Practitioners, and/or are trained CCAs or ECEs with a good understanding of the ethos and principles of Forest School.

All of our facilitators have strong interpersonal skills, are sensitive and thoughtful in relating to others, and have great enthusiasm for being on the land with the kids!
We have had some parents express interest in ride-sharing or carpooling. If you are interested in the program but transportation or time is a barrier, feel free to get in touch with us and we can help make some connections!
Tuition costs depend on our Forest & Nature School locations: Coyotes (La Broquerie) and Skipperlings (Stuartburn).

We want Forest & Nature School to be accessible to all children and families, and financial assistance is available through sibling discounts, sharing a seat, and a limited number of bursaries.
Yes, all our programs are fully insured with general liability insurance.
